Aims to improve the quality of life of children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and their families through expanding the coverage of comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment services

The project will adopt the family case management (FCM) approach wherein quality of life (QOL) measures of the 7,000 affected households will be monitored as part of the Balasahyoga program. |

State level dissemination workshop
, A total of 3,697 households (SEEDS: 1,458, St. Paul’s Trust: 1,540 and DLC: 699) have been registered based on the criteria defined under the project and a total of 6,515 children (SEEDS: 2,770, St. Paul’s Trust: 2,736 and DLC: 1,009) have been provided basic HIV care and support services. The current 16-month amendment extends the project up to 31 March 2009 and based on the findings of the District Situational Assessment conducted in the three districts, SEEDS and the two sub-partners will expand the project area to 39 mandals (zones) with a total coverage of 7,000 households.
SEEDS will intervene in 16 mandals covering 2,500 households, St. Paul’s Trust in 17 mandals covering 3,000 households and DLC in 10 mandals covering 1,500 households.
A total of around 14,000 HIV-affected children (SEEDS: 5,000; St. Paul’s Trust: 6,000 and DLC: 3,000) and 14,000 adult family members will have improved access to comprehensive HIV care, support and treatment services by building linkages between community-based, facility-based and food security services as specified under the Balasahyoga program
