St. Paul’s Trust is a health and developmental organization working with an avowed objective of striving for the development of weaker and disadvantaged sections of the society including those affected and effected by diseases like Leprosy, Tuberculosis Malaria and HIV/AIDS
is one among the few organizations in India having UN accredition.
The Trust has commissioned its service activities in the year 1981. It has started HIV/AIDS work in the year 1991 through its initiative called ACFI (AIDS Control Foundation of India).
The promoter of St. Paul’s Trust is the renowned Leprologist/Social worker Dr. K.I. Jacob – who created history in the year 1976 by starting “VIMUKTI” at Kakinada, as a first year M.B.B.S. student. VIMUKTI is one of the best Leprosy relief and rehabilitation centers in India, which had won a national Award from the President of India (2 Lakhs of Rupees and a Citation).
Another feather in the cap of St. Paul’s Trust – UN has recognize the trust as one of the Accredited Institution working against HIV/AIDS and has invited Dr. K.I. Jacob to participate in the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS being held in New York in June 2008.
